Facebook New Tool Makes Breakups Easier

Facebook is the 3rd biggest nation but virtually and it has been so from the last 5 years. People have been sharing their joys, Love stories likes and comments on it. Facebook now is more so a mirror of ones life. Facebook has come up with a solution to help navigate around the painful experience of seeing an old flame's face popping up unexpectedly.

The social media giant is trialing 'break up' tools, the effective equivalent of a digital break up. A new option where the moment one change their relationship into single, It asks if they want to take a break from Seeing their Ex's pictures and posts. The new tools, available only on mobile through the trial phase, notice when you change your relationship status to 'single', and offer up solutions to help control exposure to your now-ex.

"This work is part of our ongoing effort to develop resources for people who may be going through difficult moments in their lives," Facebook product manager Kelly Winters wrote in a blog post.

It also gives three options of privacy either to keep all the posts between the person and their ex or to selectively keep or hide all of it except for the view of those tagged in it. Their posts won't show up in your news feed and their name won't be a pop-up suggestion when you tag friends in photos or posts. And then there's the handy function to edit who can view past posts with a former partner, with the option to untag yourself from every picture and status posted by them.

Inka Kavala.!
